Smokey Hollow Farm is dedicated to providing quality sales, training, and lessons for dressage, eventing, and hunter/jumper horses and riders.  We always have several horses for sale, ranging from young prospects to experienced school masters.  Trainer Cathy Schwartz provides personalized training and instruction for horses and riders of all levels at her farm and will travel around the upstate and WNC area to teach students on their own horses, or work with their young or problem horses.  Smokey Hollow Farm's horses and students also regularily attend horse shows and events in the region.

Note from Cathy: "I believe in a personalized program to match a rider or horse owners goals.  I have taught a variety of timid young beginner riders, talented show riders, adults just realizing their lifelong dream of taking riding lessons, and students who simply want to be safe recreational riders.  My teaching style emphasizes safety, solid basics, and positive learning experiences.

I am also available for training of horses, from an unstarted young horse to an experienced show horse that might need a tune-up.  I use natural horsemanship methods when starting the young horses, and a soft, tactful approach when working with horses of any levels.  I have successfully ridden and worked with everything from 3 year olds plucked out of a field in Canada that have never been handled, to sensitive and high strung off the track thoroughbreds, to experienced 4' Jumpers, to Grand Prix Dressage horses, and everything in between. "
